Pre-op Questions...

My pre-op appointment is September 30th...
They said the appointment will take four hours! Why, I have no clue?

What should/could I expect in these four hours?  Is this pre-op liquid protein diet standard or does it vary by surgeon?

Take Care & Good Luck,
Jason

Jay,

I will let others who are more knowledgeable speak.......but i am having to do 12 weeks of the liquid diet with 4 oz of lean protein starting 9/23.

Of course i am in the 50+ BMI category, so my doc wants me to loose 10% of my weight pre op.

Let us know.

My pre-op apponitments included the following:
* Pre-op labs
* Physical by an internist to be cleared for surgery
* Anesthesia screening
* Admitting paperwork
* Surgeon
* Final training with a surgical nurse

So it's probably not just one appointment butmultiple appointments.

The pre-op liquid protein diet varies dramatically - from 12 weeks to one day, based on what I have read here.  Mine was two weeks.
Onward and DOWNward,
Brian Burke - Wellington OH
