Poll for Men. Please be honest

I'm not sure if I should have posted this in the sex forum or not but since it pertained to men, I figured this would be a good spot to post it.

Has your member changed at all?

Before my RNY I was 6", now I am 7 1/4" just 6 months after surgery and being down 137lbs.  I have a theory about it though.  Before I had a much larger FUPA (Fat Upper Private Area), and now my FUPA is very small and almost gone.  I understand that there is more of the penis then what sticks out so I understand it.  Before surgery I had heard that guys who lost a lot of weight would see an increase in length but could never find a concrete study on it.  (Mostly cuz guys want to lie about it.)

The other thing that I have noticed in the past few weeks is that it now curves slightly to the left.  Don't have a clue as to why that is, it never used to.  Any ideas on why that has happened?

Please be honest.  It would be nice for the guys on the fence about weight loss surgery to know that gaining size down there is a benefit.  Also has your sex drive increased.  Mine has greatly, I've never had an issue with getting it up, but sometimes before surgery I would have problems staying hard.  Now I'm getting hard easier then when I was a teenager.  My wife barely has to mention sex for me to be hard and ready to go.

Curves slightly to the left?  Hmmm, are you left handed? LOL  You are correct about the FUPA thing.  As you lose weight that area gets smaller too.  You penis does not actually grow.  Instead, it's able to be seen in it's full length.  Dr. Oz said on Oprah that for every 35lbs you lose, you "gain" one inch....to an extent.

An increase in your libido is very common.  It can be credited to several different things.  You feel better, look better, stored hormones are being released from fat cells. Your probably exercising now/more and that helps with sex drive and stamina.

I say rejoice and enjoy this benefit to weight loss surgery.  Just don't be too rough on the wife.  Congrats. on your weight loss.

Dan,

I asked this one myself 18 months ago after seeing Dr. Oz.

Like to use analogy of a post buried in the ground.  Have 3' of topsoil around post then remove 1.5 feet then have extra 1.5 feet of usable post.  Helps to if you keep the brush trimmed away.

I will say this...I had better blood flow.  My heart was pumping at 35% before WLS...after about 55%.  That does make a difference.

Whoo Hoo!  Can't wait for surgery!  Now if it increases drive and energy.  I'm too tired after chasing around 3 5-year olds in the evening.

So true.  Last night my wife told me that she was talking to some post-op friends about only losing 10 pounds in the last year. Looks like it all started when she had her mirana (IUD) put in (to prevent pregnancy).  Considering having it removed at the next gyno appt.

Like the other guys said, I cleared away an inch or so of dirt. My wife says its bigger than before and I have a lot  more stamina. I am 51 years old and feel like a 20 year old. Well at least a 30 year old. My wife and I are having the best relations of our 27 year marriage.
