The 650-lb. Virgin
I see TLC was running their "people of size family marathon" again yesterday (e.g. "the 1/2 ton dad", "the 600 lb. teen", "the 700 lb. mom", etc. etc.) .. One new edition that I had not seen before in that series was "The 650 lb. Virgin", which followed a guy who lost over 400 lbs. ... I was very interested in watching that show ..
Unfortunately, I had forgotten to tune in yesterday and watch the show .. Did anyone catch it? Does it have a happy ending?
(I hope so - ::sigh::)

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
It did have a very happy ending in fact. However, the young man (33), lost 400 pounds withOUT the help of weight loss surgery. He did it with the help of a seemingly full time personal trainer. I wish they talked more about his weight, but the show really focused more on him "going on dates" and meeting and talking to girls. The show did talk about his weight some, but not with any real "depth." Frankly, the fact that he lost the weight without surgery was damn impressive (I think it took about 3 or 4 years and plenty of plastic surgery) made me a little less interested in his situation. Either way, it was good television.
thanks, Ubanger ..
Wow, shock that he didn't have WLS, though .. I wonder if that means he might regain it all later, and if so, there go (most) of those dates, once again ..
(oh well, at least he had fun while he could!
