Minor Observation
I presume he was talking about your weight loss, Uniteddude?
Ya know, something I wondered about early on .. Once you get down to a "normal" weight, how will that effect your "effectiveness" as a doorman? I know the thing with bouncers is they usually use their large stature as a big factor (no pun intended) in carrying out their job, and if you are only as big (or even smaller) than the "bouncees", could that then become an occupational "problem"? (maybe you'll need to start carrying the Red-Hawk to work then )

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
no we were not talking about weight loss.. He out of the blue started talking about cars...
People do ask me that question all the time now. The bar owners don't seem to care, cause they know i am 100% professional about it. I have to work out and build muscle as i lose flab.
Size is not needed to be an effective doorman. I have seen some small frame people that can handle it on my level. Hot headed people make **** bouncers, The job is not about bashing everyone's head in. It's about keeping order and control of the crowd, protecting patrons, staff and property.
I have noticed I can work a show with 3 bands. Each playing two 45s with a 15 min break and I can stand on my feet the whole thing and not feel the need to sit on my ass. Going up the stairs to check the VIP area is no longer a hasle for me.. I can go up and talk to someone without having to catch my breath and wipe the sweat away..

I've been lifting weights for years....
* I've been a bodybuilder.
* Then a power lifter.
* Then a fat powerlifter.
* Then a fat guy lifting weights.
* Now I'm starting to get the bodybuilding look back again.
Nice to meet a fellow lifter. I got pretty weak while losing so much weight but have been gaining some strength back lately.
Are you taking in enough protein?
I started taking in 200+ grams of protein per day a while back. It works wonders.
Your supposed to get at least 1 gram of protein per lb of lean bodyweight when your lifting hardcore.
See ya,
Fred
