iron problems
I highly recommend Vitalady's Tender-Iron chewables .. They're sorta bland in taste, but they contain cabonyl iron, which is one of the most readily-absorbed forms for WLSers .. My iron was pretty low, so I chew 6 in the a.m. and another 6 in the p.m. They're only $20 for a huge bottle of them (300+ small pills, IIRC) ..
One thing to remember is to not take calcium (supps. or in food) within 2 hours of taking your iron, as it can interfere with absoprtion. For the same reason, they say never take it with tea, coffee or sodas .. Also, it helps absorption if you take it with a Vit. C pill, which I do ..
Keep a watch not only on your serum irons (Hemocrit, Hemoglobin, etc.) but also your Ferritin level, which will indicate what your body stores are like .. When the Ferritin starts getting low, LOOK out, and definitely increase your iron intake then to head off having to get infusions later on .. I hear they're NO fun ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
