Have call in to Nut as all at once i am not hungry at dinner time each evening. I cant stand chicken/cant stand eggs/no to tuna. So i tried Pototoe Soup last night mashing the taters and i took one bite and that was it. So i had Yogurt again for the day which is ok. But would like to get some meaty things going down there.  Night before last just seeing a KFC commercial on tv got the brain and the juices to going and for a half hour spent in "worshipping the porcelin" face down. Just the thought.... Hoping that she can give me some advice. Am getting things other during the day but its the evening time that hits me. Anyone else had this?

I couldn't eat anything after about 4 p.m. for quite a while. If I tried to eat in the evenings, it would just make me ill. So I would just have a protein shake, call it dinner and leave it at that.  That part got better and better the farther out I got, but even at 16 months post-op I'm still usually really not very hungry in the evenings.  Hang in there man!

THANKS i just thought it was me rejecting the pouch etc. I drink a shake in the morning on the way to work and then eat my protein bar during the late morning before lunch as i get hungry.  Im only out a month and half and its easier, but boy oh boy! its always a learning process. thanks again!

I'm 3 and a half years out, and I can't eat eggs anytime, in any form.  I even tried a small sample of quiche at Costco and got sick.  Make sure and find some form of protein for your dinner.  You will naturally sort out the foods you can eat, but it may not be fun.

I try to read between the lines here.  When you say you "can't stand"...does that mean you throw it up?  If that is the case you may have a stricture...very treatable...Know the signs.  If that isn't the case, you might want to look at (hardy...good quality) chicken, turkey, or beef vegetable soups...drain most of the liquid.

Keith, I tend to not want to eat in the morning.  I call it "an angry pouch".  I think that I've seen others call it that also.  At almost 4 months meat never sounds good to me.  I make myself eat it and it has to be moist and well chewed.  I still can't stand eggs.  You've got to find a way to get that protein in.  Sometimes it's mind over matter.  This is probably just a phase that you're going through.  If you're throwing up everything you eat then call your surgeons office.  You may have a stricture.  It's no big deal to correct it.  Alisica has had it done.  Also, you may want to call the Nut. at St. V's and talk to them.  They may be able to help you.  Hang in there.

not throwing up everything.just chicken and eggs. everything else goes on thru just fine. its the mind over matter thing with it. I know eventually down the road i will be able to handle it. Friend of mine had the same problem and he is three years out...and can only eat FRIED CHICKEN...not the good thing to do...Ha  I am getting the protein drink/bar in a day and am finding ways to get around the situation with other protein things. It was nearly 10 last night when i finally got nervy to eat my supper time...wasnt good right before bed but had to get it in.

You are in that six to twelve week range when your pouch is at it's tightest.  Early on you can't feel the pouch as it is very raw and the nerves have not healed.  Where you are now it is swolen and at it's tightest.  As you get past three months and on towards four to five months, thing will get much better and some of your hunger may return.  Just continue to concentrate on getting in your protein.  At your stage bean with bacon soup worked well for me in the evening.
