Since there surgery or before there surgery cause I am telling you I am struggling with this 4 weeks of liquid diet thank god monday is not that far away.

I just wanted to wish y ou good luck, I had a different surgery then you're going to have, so I don't know how much help I can be...other to say that right after surgery, eating will be almost the last thing on your mind. Very few people get hungry immediately post op, unless you count head hunger.

If you page through the posts here in the locker room you will probably find answers to all of your questions because we are all brilliant in here.

William -  welcome, welcome, welcome to the only place on OH where you will get the manly man's perspective on WLS.

Have just a bit more patience with the liquid diet and you will see the fruits of your effort very shortly.  If you read some of the threads that interest you - and don't be afraid to go back through 20, 30 or more pages - you'll find that almost to a man, everyone here who is post-op senses a new lease on life because of WLS. Those same people want to support pre-ops like you who have made this life-giving decision, and they want to thwack some of the post-ops upside the head if they need support for a jump start.  It's all done to make sure the tool works for each one of us.

C'mon along for the ride!

All Drs and programs for RNY have some differences.  My program did not mandate a two week liquid diet before surgery, but for the sake of making the liver smaller (to help the surgeon with the operation and to keep from nicking the liver) they highly recommended it)

I did the two weeks prior and surgery went without a hitch.  It was a rough two weeks being on that diet and I only lost 9 pounds (felt it should have been 25) but I made it.

The two weeks after surgery also required a liquid diet, but after surgery my appetite was severely suppressed and it was not near as bad.

Hang in there--the tool you are about to receive to help you get healthy is awesome. Welcome to the board--I am a newbie, but there a lot of old timers here that give great advice.
