Surgery August 12, 2009 - AND NOW HOME AUG 13, 2009
Alright, so i just had my surgery yesterday mid day around 2/ish... i was all calm and every thing went great, i had all of my family's support - they all said a little prayer before i went into surgeryy, my mom started balling crying, which made me cry! ugh.. it was a good cry though..
--After waking up from surgery, i wasn't sure if i even had the surgery yet, i litterally tugged on the nurses arm like 5 times asking her the same question, if i had the surgery... She answered everytime with a "yes" it just felt so unreal...
--Was in the recovering stage for a few hours, and they sent me back to my own beautiful private room where my family awaited me-- again it was such a peaceful expiernce and i thank God for putting it all into it's place....
---Tried doing my talk 2 hours later but failed to do so, i was feeling so disgusted and nausiated, i couldnt even stand up... a few more hours, i tried it again and this time only made it passed the doors and back...
--the next day at 4am, i told the nurses that i was ready to give walking another try.. after giving me meds to calm my nurves, i made it all the way around the hallway loop ...
--7 am i went for another walk and did 4 loops around the hallway...
Kept on repeating my walking every 2 hours
As far as everything and how im feeling, i FEEL good, but the only thing that bugs me the most is when i have to burp, it just hurts like crazy...
--well im off to bed, thanks again for ur guys support and ill report more updates later..

Good to hear. Real boring stuff the first few weeks. The pain near your bellybutton is where they put the camera...that is why that site hurts more than the others. The gas should pass in about 4-7 days. They tested the pouch with air (for leaks)...so you have all this air in your system...It may even shoot up into your shoulder!! It will pass. Walk...sip...rest...repeat. Sleep where you can; bed, couch, floor, recliner. Use pillows to adjust your sleeping angles. Welcome to the losers bench. Brian
First of all, congratulations! We're all sliding down to make room on the loser's bench for you.
Second, you and I must have had the same anesthesia drugs that Michael Jackson had (but with better results), because it felt like a switch was flipped and instead of being on the OR table chatting with the attendants, I was in recovery.
Third, thanks to Brian for the info on the camera incision. I didn't know what the one near the belly button was for, but it took about six weeks to quit seeping. It's the one I had to pay the most attention to - all the others healed quickly and quite well. And now the camera incision has healed perfectly.
