Hello Men,

Well, to encourage us to keep up the ole excercise I'm posting again.  This morning I went on a 3.8 mile run and I finally broke the 38 minutes which means I am under 10 minute miles again.  Running has been depressing for me (painful and slow) over the past couple months since I had my appendicitus the day before I was schedule to race in my first official 5 k.  My running has been painful and slow since having surgery June 18th.

ANyway, I have been slowly building up my running again because I want to run a 10 k next weekend and hope to do a half marathon in October.  My bicyling has been great and enjoyable (completed a 50 mile ride last weekend).  Tonight, I will ride a slow, beautiful ride through the apple orchards of Southeastern MN, while my daughter has Figure Skating lessons.

I woke up early, got my wife out of bed also.  We went and walked 3.5 miles before I had to go to work.  My right knee is stiff and a little swolen from running too much yesterday.

I'm at work now and am on call this weekend.  If I can get out of the Hosp. at a reasonable time I'm going to go to the gym and do a full body workout and one hour of cardio. of some type.

I'd like to get in another 3.5 to 5 miles tonight on the trail just before dark and after it cools down a little bit....On second thought I may go for a 20 mile bike ride.  It will be easier on my knee.  That is if I don't get called back into the Hosp.

I HATE BEING ON CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duane,
Buy yourself a $25. pedometer  You will be supprised how much walking you get in just moving about.  I am now pushing for 10,000 steps daily or 5 miles.  This includes gym time  5 days a week.
Good luck

50 miles? You da man, Stephan!! Glad to see you continue your cycling and you've added running to your exercise regiment. Looks like you be a triathete in the making. Congratulation and job well done.

Boner

P.S. I'm still cranking out the bike miles as well. What a rush!

Good to hear from you.  Yeah, that was my longest ride in one day.  I had hit the thirty to forty marks before.  Just got back from a twenty mile bike ride.  I really enjoy riding it is fun.  I do want to do a sprint triatholon at the beginning of next summer.  This year my goal is a half marathon in October, and perhaps a 100k bike ride in September.

Great weather here 2day.... so I got out early and rode about 1 hr. and 15 min. (don't know the mileage tho) on the new bike my family got me for my birthday last month. Remembered how much I love cycling and how less boring it is than walking which I have been doing almost every nite!

Not much today.  Rode to the local coffee shop (gave them a bag of peaches I had picked earlier this morning).  Then to the 99 Cent Only store...Then home.  About 4 miles total.  Many nights before sunset (when it is cool) I will ride for about 15-30 minutes just around the neighborhood.  Tonight my wife and I are going to see a local production of Bye Bye Birdie.  So that is out.  Brian

I get tired just reading your posts !!!  I did 25 miles on the bike and 3 hours building tree stands and another hour digging potatoes.

Great to see Boner is still alive.
