Has any men had sucess with LAP-BAND
The band has been good for me, down 106 lbs in a little over a year - start weight was 299. My PCP told me I was 'borderline' type 2 diabetic (whatever 'borderline' means) prior to surgery; now, my blood sugar and insulin levels are normal. Also, I am off cholestrol meds. The band has helped; however, so has exercise and a proper diet. The band is not for everyone, though. You better be ready not to eat anywhere near what you used to once its adjusted properly, and deal with your head hunger and cravings. There are trade-offs to every surgery; just do your research. The deciding factor for me is that the band is reversible, and who knows what medical advances will be in the next 20 years? Perhaps there will be something better than any WLS out there right now. Good luck in your journey.
