Wifes Weight
Thanks guys,
I will just keep on my own mission for now. It is frustrating with her having high blood pressure and diabetes runs in her family. Her father, mother and sister all have it. We also have a 5 month old daughter and with getting a late start with her, I don't want our daughter having to bury one of us before she gets out of high school.

Thats a good point that you might want to bring up to her. It might shut down discussion and it might be hard to bring up the topic again anytime soon. But, if she knows what your concerns are,,,, It might just give her some food for thought.. It might not sway her toward surgery and lets face it,, surgery is not for everyone. But,,, it might make her think that another try at the old fashioned way would be worth some effort... I promise you though this kind of conversation never goes down easy on either side....

Personnaly, my wife bugged me for three years to get it done. She has seen me fight my weight for the last 24 years without much success. I always told her "no way". I don't need that. Then I saw a special on the health channel about Gil Rodgers (Buck Rodgers for anyone old enough) and it was like looking in a mirror. Plus I had developed sleep apnea, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. That's when I decided to have the surgery. Now three months out I wish I had listened to my wife three years ago.
Your wife needs to come to the decision on her own. You cannot force her.
