Welcome to the Forum. Even if you were/are a Marine. (Retired Navy here). I too have Dr, Jawad as my surgeon. I am 3 months out today and went in for my appointment to check my blood.
I didn't actually meet Dr. Jawad until the pre-op appointment a week before my surgery. He is very reserved and will answer all your questions. He fully explained all the good and bad of the RNY and he didn't scare me off. I was ready for this. If you are like me and have Tricare insurance approval is a breeze. His office staff told me they liked submitting to Tricare because they approved off of Dr. Jawads recommendation. In fact I had my insurance approval before I had my psych, cardiologists and nutritionists recommendations.
Let us know when you are scheduled for surgery. Just follow Dr. Jawad and his staff's advice. They know what they are doing!
