HELP! I have a FART and I do mean GAS!
unidos had a good answer. Considering that you post here daily, has there been a change in your eating that may have caused this? I'd take a look at any new coffees you may have tried and see if the problem may be with an additive. We know of the diuretic effects of coffee so it just seems logical that it may affect our digestive system in a way that produces gas.
Gass issues are common post bypass surgery. Products like Beano and Gas-x usually help quite a bit. I just take fart breaks outdide at work. Why not, the smokers do. But I guess that taking a break gass break where the smokers are smoking may not be a wise thing.
Now as for using this cas as an alternative fuel, and helping to save the energy crisis, one fart at a time, I have posted on this before. Here was that post:
Being in the auto industry I can assure you that we take this subject very seriously. After years of exhaustive laboratory research and field testing the auto industry was forced to abandon this alternative energy source due to excessive sulfur content. Eliminating the sulfur at the source has been the only effective means of keeping this hydrocarbon fuel within EPA clean air act guidelines and meeting EPA combustible by-product emission restrictions in compliance with the Federal Clean Air Act. The California Clean Air Act added further requirements and mandated double sealed, airtight connections between the source and the scrubber equipment prior to storage in double walled containment.
Testing with subject primates initially proved promising. A polybutyle interface with an cyanoacrylate adhesive seal provided 98% compliance while the subject was confined within a dual compartment polycarbonate containment sphere. All testing were later abandoned following a court order, of suspension of activities, as a result of a class action legal filing by the ASPCA, PETA and LIPS (Legals for Indigent Primates Society), on behalf of a chimpanzee individual named "Cooshi".
In simple terms we could not even find a monkey who wanted to live in a plastic bubble with a rubber hose Super Glued up its rear.
I should also point out that there were long term liability concerns from our legal departments as well as serious concerns and objections from our ergonomics committees.

Randall, we are about the same surgery date. I go through periods of bad gas and periods of not much. I have to say I am sure it depends on what we eat. The soy products, and a lot of veggies cause noxious fumes. I have found that if I get in enough whole grains I crap more often and fart less, or at leat the gas comes out in the bathroom rather than under the covers.

I take flaxseed oil (3 tablets at night) and I find that keeping my water intake between 4-6 bottles a day help keep the gas under control or at least limited to feeling the need to go to the John rather than it sneaking out on me.
Less water, more gas. More water; control bowel Movement (BM). Skip the flaxseed, less BM & farts. Getting a daily walk or jog or golf (walking and swinging) help dispell the gaseous compartmentalizing that otherwise overtake me while unwinding before bed in front of the tv or those first 15-30 minutes in bed before Zzzzzzing out.
Morings,...its just gonna happen; vapor lock; love is keeping it under the covers or downwind of those I love. With enogh warning or wkaing up soon enough, I can be excused before the chambers burst but thats a 50/50 shot at best.
