What frozen dinners from the grocery store do you eat?

I am with you I cook well and I know whats in it...  Don't need to be a chemical engineer to figure out the label..

Reading the sodium in some of those things is scary.  TGI's and Phillips brands have over 1000mg of sodium in them. A cup of soup is over 1000 too..

I like to call it "Dude Food"

Partial to Hormel Complete Eats.  90 seconds in microwave and eat.  Will pick out the meat, eat a few bites of the spuds or noodles and put rest down disposal.

Must confess to also getting into the Chef Boyardee "minis" a few times.

GF and I eat out enough to have decent supply of left overs.  Tonight is leftover snow crab legs and a few shrimp.  Will supplement that with some frozen shrimp from the freezer.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

If there is a whole foods market in your area they have prepared by the pound fresh meals

thats one thing I miss from living on a farm.  Butchering and canning.
I read an article about chicken, pork and beef parts.  The fat shacks use chicken parts in their prepared chicken dishes and the burgers have very little meat you'd buy off the shelf. Deli counters have processed meats and I've been to one of those plants.  Meats we used to give to the dogs not even thinking sausage.  Its the taste today, not the content.  If elementary school kids went to a slaughterhouse, you would see the fat shack have an instant makeover.
Canned veggies have very little nutritional value.  Processed meats have  insane amounts of chemicals and salts.  White breads, oh hell I could go on and on.
Think like Nick, run it down, kill it, cut it up and freeeze it..  Pull your own taters, beets.  Clean your veggies, fruits and stick them in a Ball jar

I kinda grew up on a farm... We grew everything from Apples to Zucchini and did canning.   Neighbors had fresh eggs and honey.

I now rely on the local farmers for freshness. 2.00 a doz for local eggs, they'll hatch before i can eat them all though

I made fresh pickled beets last week with hard boiled eggs in them (local eggs)

Yeah growing up in farm country it did just seem natural to do it yourself for all our food. And it was all natural. That is one thing I really got away from before my surgery. Oh, I hunted, grew veggies, canned, stuffed, etc. but I also ate all that and supplemented it with fast foods. Just because you live in a city, doesn't mean that you can't do your own now. I still can. I still stuff sausage. (I was thrilled this year when my daughter asked to learn, from me, to stuff sausage.) I make my own jerky, and no store bought jerky comes close, and I still dry  my own vegetables and spices. If my weirdo cousin is right and the great calamity of Dec. 25, 2010 occurs, I will be all set.

Love pickled beets.  Made up a batch about 3 mos out and could'nt keep the egg down.
Used to eat corn everyhthing.  Grandma made 10 different corn soups, pies, fritters, flat cornbread, meal mush.  It was on the table everyday.
