I know I should call my doc but with it being Sunday and all I just thought I would ask here.

I've gone throgh all of my paperwork and can't seem to see it. How long after RNY can i resume taking my vitamins... I'm currently getting all of my water in.
But I'm still feeling kind of off.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Welcome to the Loser's Bench!

Different doctors = different programs.  That being said mine did not have me even start on vitamins (chewables) till I was two weeks out.  Call'em in the morning.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Congratulations,
As far as vitamins, my doc had me wait until after my first post op appointment, which was at 1 week.

I must be old school, Open RNY 9/06, I started my vitamins the day I got home and just cut up the bigger one so I could get them down.  Of course, after the initial 4 day stay,  I was home 5 days before I had to go back for a week to determine I had a kidney fail.  I wasn't on the vitamins cause I was getting everything through the IV.  but when I got home the secnod time, back on the vitamins and supplements.

I did find Walgreens has a small round Walgreens brand multivitamin that went down a lot easier than any chewable I ever found.  Same contents as the whale bait chunk sized ones too.  Makes no sense.

Best of Luck on your adventure.  remeber yo are on the down-hill side of the roller coaster ride.  Keep your hands up and remember to scream some.  It relieves the stress!

Water, Protein, and move.  Nothing tastes as good and being thin feels.

My Doc was like Joe's, Had my surgery on Thursday and started on Sunday, my first morning home.  It is amazing how different every program is.
