Eating out
I just went out for the first time since my surgery the other day with a group of friends. I ordered a salad, and my God it was huge. As soon as I saw it, i asked the waiter to bring a box. It's funny how I now realize that before the surgery, I would have eaten that entire salad and been looking for more, and now that massive plate scares the hell out of me, LOL.
It is a little uncomfortable to take a couple of bites and then be done and have to watch everyone else eat. I'm going to try not to make it a habit of going out, at least for now.

I've averaged eating out about once a week recently. Each meal turns into at least three meals for me, so I've been in the habit of asking for a box as soon as the meal arrives. It avoids the whole "was there something wrong with your meal" scene. What I will probably always get is the return question when I decline any type of beverage. "Not even water???"
I've taken to simply responding that I've recently had stomach surgery and am limited. Some servers take that at face value; others know what I'm talking about and either tell me a story about someone else or say "good luck". I can take that type of interaction with the servers better than from those who don't think I, the customer, knows what I want or don't want.
