Looking for a pedal bike for 300lber
Hello,
I'm new to this board, and I'm trying to get in shape. I'm currently 6'5 and 300 lbs. I'm looking for a pedel bike that fits my size, because I frankly can't stand walking any longer for exercise. I'd prefer to go further than I have before so I'm coming here for help! Any ideas? I'm also not looking to spend 400+ on a bike, I'd like something affordable.

lol I am actully doing the research now on this. I could not find anything in the 400 range. That's what I wanted to spend too. Because you are tall you will need a xxl frame. The 3 below is what I am working with.. I am ready to purchase any day now.
Giant Yukon 2XL Hard Tail for 600.00 http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/bikes/mountain/2279/32121/
Cannondale F8 in Jumbo for 550.00 http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/09/cusa/model-9FS8.html
The trek comes in 22.5. I am 6'3 and this bike in a 21" is right at the Crotch on me.
I may end up with the 2010 Trek 4300, it has better parts, tires, rims come in double wall for strength and has a lock out feature on the forks for pavment riding.

You can get a Entry level Trek without the Disc Brakes for around 400.00 You just have to go to a bike shop to get fitted. Maybe spend a few $$ more on a double walled back wheel for strength..

If you spend much less than $400 on a new bike it's going to be junk....seriously, with bikes you get what you pay for. I found the Raleigh Venture 4.0 to be a great value, good components, quality and comfortable bike...i have the 2008 model...they're $450 but you might be able to find a leftover or used one for less...was great at 300+ lbs and just as good at 215...i'm 6'6" and fit great...they come in a variety of frame sizes, i have the largest.
