I stalled around Month 3/4 and it's been going on for a month now.  Starting to worry kinda sort.... especially since my appetite is picking up and I'm able to eat a good amount of food.  I normally try to eat 6 times a day in order to keep away from HUGE hunger attacks.

Figured I'd ask on the mens board in hopes of seeing what y'all ate at 3-4 months out.

I'm usually right around 1000 calories and probably 70+ grams of protien.  64-80 oz of water a day too.  I do water aerobics twice a week, 45 minutes a pop, and I normally walk several times a week.

Normal daily meal plan

carmaster yogurt and kashi
Oatmeal Snack
Tuna
Cheese or oatmeal snack
some sort of meat and veggies

I guess I'm not upset, I knew it was coming... and lord knows 100 lbs in 3 months, I need a break to let me skin catch up (only have issues on my arms)

Your mileage will vary - for me it was 29 days with no sustainable change... then it finally picked up again.

Hang in there and give your scale some slack - 100 pounds in 3 months is huge!

Keep up the great work!

It is no use saying "we are doing our best." You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.

As the other men have told you, you can experience a stall anytime following your WLS.  Don't get frustrated.  I'm over 4 years post op and dieting again ( I've been following my post-op diet all along but now I've stopped snacking).  Some weeks I lose a few pounds, others I lose 1 or 2 pounds and then there are those weeks when I either don't lose at all or even gain a couple pounds. My doctors and the other medical pros that I see all say that is normal.  My brother is a food microbiologist and the scientist says that trends in biological changes rarely follow a straight line;  that is, a graph of my weight loss would probably look lie a serrated knife tilting down as oppose to a butter knife.  You just have to experience those minor ups and downs while you are working towards your goal.

When I first had my RNY, one of the men who mentored me had gone almost 6 months post op and barely lost anything despite following all of the dietary guidelines and getting plenty of exercise.  Then, all of a sudden, he dropped a ton of weight.  I just mention this because all of our bodies are different.  If you know you are properly following your post-op food plan, then just keep it up.

The only thing that concerns me is the amount of food you are eating.  you may be eating too few calories and not getting enough protein.  I've read that men should diet at the rate of 1,200 to 1,600 calories per day and that anything less than that may trigger your body into "starvation" mode where the body will not allow you to lose weight.  So, think about adding a couple hundred calories with protein and complex carbs.  Bob
