Did you guys put anything on your incisions as they were healing?

I heard that body fluids intensify the healing process.  I asked my wife to sit on mine and do a moist  rub around  She politely refused.  Then I asked my girlfriend the same question.  She said the same.  Then I thought of going to the RANCH in NV and doing a recovery/healing process for  a week, but could'nt see the money in it. So I suffered through the healing process by applying Nivea (Blue)body lotion.  At my 12 mos anniversary I will get a tatoo around my scar.  It is a 5" center cut.  This is my answer to WLS scars.  Wifey will get a colorful phoenix  snarling in her face during breeding season.  LOL
Good luck

My Dr. didn't want anything on them during the healing, so I didn't.   At 13 months out, the surgery scars have virtually vanished, but the damned stretch marks still show up just fine...

Good luck,
John

Four out of my five incisions have healed well and will be virtually invisible after a while (although I'll know they are there).  One is still seeping.  The surgeon gave me an antibiotic a few weeks ago and that took care of the redness.  I'm covering it with a band aid right now and may go to my dermatologist first (maybe an hour round trip including the visit) rather than go on a four or five hour chase to get in with the surgeon's office for the same two-minute visit.

My Doc told me to just put neosaporin on the incision sites until they heal. The only one that's going to be visible is the one I hade the G-Tube coming out of for 6 weeks and it now looks like a healed bullet wound. A good "That was back in the day when...." story.(LOL)

I didn't put anything on mine, nor did the doc recommend it.  He just told me to wash them when I showered.  At almost 16 months out, you can't really see mine at all.

I have heard that you want to be sure to use sun screen later when you are out in the sun as a way to reduce the way your scars look.
