Do not want this to be long and drawn out--but it may be a bit long:

1. First--and most important to me--I feel sooo much better than I did two months ago.
    a.  I can walk two to three miles at a time vs could not make it across the room.
    b.  I don't use a cane to walk anymore.
    c.  I haven't had any diabetes medicine since my surgery and my blood sugar level is control ed.
    d.  My blood pressure medicine has been cut in half--and is in control.
    e.  I have stopped taking 12 pills a day (at physician's advice).
    f.   I actually felt like going away for the week-end to celebrate my 35th weeding anniversary with my DW.
    g. I can now weigh on my home scales!
    h.  I feel Tony the Tiger Grrreat!
2. I will be eight weeks out from my RNY in two days.  So far total weight loss is 63 pounds--54 pounds since surgery.
3. Do you think I would do it again--at this point YES.

Good luck and keep us informed.  You may want to post on main and state boards

Volfan,

Great post!

Soon you'll be on here like Eddie Murphey in The Nutty Professor when the Buddy Love character appears, pulls out the waist on his now oversized pants exclaiming "My Dick!  My Dick!  I can see my Dick!"

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I only wish I could have some of your successes.  I had hoped to be off of my cane but that's not going to happen soon.  I'll be celebrating my 35th wedding anniversary in Oct.  I'd just like to be able to even walk down by the Delaware River in one of the nearby towns.  I can only go a couple hundred feet using a rollator and then sit and rest.

I guess my case is strange since I've now lost about 230 lbs since surgery.  Before surgery I didn't need blood pressure meds but now I just need a mild dosage.  I remind myself that naturally thing people get sick and develop medical conditions also.  Having WLS doesn't mean that we won't have medical problems in the future.

It's great that you are enthusiastic.  Keep up the exercise.  Get used to following your post-op diet and you will be in good shape.

You are absolutely correct--not all illness is weight related.  I am sorry you are having issues and hope that you will see improvement.

For many of us though, the co-morbidity's have been onset by our morbid obesity and it is difficult not to be excited and thankful to get some relief from our efforts.

Thanks for your insight.
