Finally effed up!!
I had a half of an omlette this morning with some fresh pineapple, strawberries, honey dew, cantaloupe, blueberries and raspberries on the side for breakfast. Lunch was a taco salad with only a few tortilla chips for crunch. I think I got in trouble with the grapes and sliced apples after lunch along with a small bag of animal crackers. I felt like I hit a wall and left class to stagger back to my cabin, shivering uncontrollably and deplete of any energy. It took my fleece jacket and 3 blankets for me to stop shivering after about 30 minutes and I passed out cold for abour an hour. When I woke up. I felt very weak but otherwise fine and went back to class (skipping dinner). Are these normal symptoms for dumping and is there anything I can do to bounce back quicker? I read one article that indicated it might be hyperglycemia and thought maybe a little juice would have helped but that seems counter-intuitive. Why say ye, Men?
I had the exact same thing to me. Shivering, trying to get warm. My wife thought I should go to the ER. This happened about 1.5 mos out. I was testing myself on different foods and never did pinpoint what the trigger was. It lasted about 3 hrs Alot of gas, belching. The shakes is what scared me. After it was over I hit the fluids. Have not had this since. I went back to my food list and have not strayed since. Apples ok. Plums and grapes no. Some of the summer cook outs have been a nightmare for me. A plain burger, little mustard, baked beans, maybe a leaf salad and thats all. Baby bites for 30 minutes. Not like the old days. Miss my beer, Johnson's, noddle salads, slaws, pies and all the comfort foods. But our friends say I look terrific. Keepem coming baby.
Getting caught in an eating environment that is out of your control can be scary. Especially if you dont have a change of clothing.
Good luck
