Good morning.  A co-worker (1 year post-op) and I (4 years post-op) are starting the "5 Day Pouch Test" this morning.  I found myself veering WAY off the path over the last two years and this seemed like a good way to refocus.  Wish me luck!

is this the first time you have tried it?  I'm still in the honeymoon time period and haven't needed something like this.   Let me know how it works for you.

What is the 5 day pouch test?  Can you give a breif discription?

Some days its just not worth waking up and chewing through the leather straps

My story in a nutshell...  I recovered from surgery and lost over 100 lbs within the first year like I was standing on my head.  Got way overconfident and let my rules start to slip.  Fell completely off the wagon after a major family tragedy struck and I started using food as a crutch again.  Throw in a knee surgery that derailed my daily exercise regimen and I ended up putting back on 40 lbs.  (I know...  whhhaaaa.... whaaaa..  whaaaaa.)  I feel like a complete failure and am thoroughly disgusted with myself.  I went from feeling 10 ft tall and invincible to worse then I did when I weighed 350.

I have a friend who's a year post-op and doing awesome, but is getting concerned that she can eat more sugar/fatty foods and food in general in a greater quantity than before.  She suggested we try this to regain focus.

Basically the plan breaks bad patterns with slider foods and carbs, refocuses you on a protein-filled diet, getting back to basics, and you regain that tight newbie pouch feeling again.

Day 1 was hard, but my head is already in a much better place and I'm hoping to use this to springboard back into a good pattern.  I'm not an advocate for this plan YET, just was putting this out there to see if I got any bites from others who may have been down this road before me.

Was down 7 lbs when I hopped on the scale Monday.  Has been a good week so far, but am worried about behaving mysfelf over the weekend...  celebrating my b-day and father's day.
