I was actually thinking about what changing what i was eating for breakfast this morning and decided not to.

I  know a lot of guys get sick of protein shakes, but I love mine in the morning.  I usually have chocolate protein shake from GNC, with 8 ounces of milke and a little under a cup of some kind of frozen fruit.  This morning it was a frozen bananna that I had cut up and put in the freezer yesterday.  My favorite is frozen blueberries or raspberries.  I then grind up the frozen fruit in the protein shake and add some fiberall for fiber.

This is what I have most days. OH< and coffee

I also like eggs, cheese, the high protein cereal or hot cereal with milk,  one slice of toast with peanut butter or cheese and meat, etc....  I think I will have an omelet tomorrow and save the shake for after the workout.

i have pretty heavy workouts in the morning so my breakfast and then post work-out meals may seem out of the ordinary to this group, but my new nut (who is a sports + bariatric nut) helped me design the meals.

breakfast:

2 slices of pepperidge farm very thin whole wheat toast w/ 1 TBSP of reduced fat peanut butter and 1 TBSP honey
1/3 cup of organic reduced fat vanilla yogurt
1 mini-box of raisins (45 calories)
1 20 oz bottle of Q2 at the gym

post work-out:

1 protein shake (usually muscle milk light or EAS light)
1 banana
1 light yogurt or 1 serving of whole wheat crackers

Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Breakfast varies from protein shake with a small banana, was mostly a scrambled egg with cheese.  After about 6 months, I sometimes would add a piece of Genesis bread, which I get at the health food store.  No flour and made with natural ingredients.  Lately though, another member of OH told me about "Flax-Z-Snax" from netrition.com.  I ordered a bag and at first was pretty unusual, but I have gotten used to it.  It is made from flax seed and is a hot cereal.  I put a teaspoon of peanut butter in it too, and a small amount of butter and splenda.  I have kept eating it because it keeps me satisfied all morning even more so than the egg with cheese.  A 1/2 cup serving has 132 cal.; 2 net carbs; 12 g protein.

I'm now seven weeks out and am still struggling with breakfast. I was eating oatmeal but looking at the nutritional data it was not giving me enough protein. I started eating a scrambled egg with ham or a half slice of whole grain pepperidge farm toast with peanut butter. I also add either unjury Chocolate or vanilla to my first cup of coffee.

I usually have 2 eggs either scrambled with some protein or hard-boiled if I am on the go. Nothing like trying to crack and peal an egg while doing 70 down the highway. I am worried I will get sick of these, but so far so good. Gotta make sure the cholesterol is good when I see the doc. I was a morning cereal guy before WLS, but the 2 eggs keep me going for several hours. I agree with the wise person who said breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
