One month post-ops
1) Have lost 24 pounds since surgery on 4/30 - about five per week, which is right based on the calories in and out calculations. On surgery day I weighed 286, so it's not quite 10% of my surgical body weight.
2) Nutritionist seems to be pleased that I have started on regular foods in the last few days. Didn't learn anything new there.
3) Psychologist has pronounced me sane. She said that three months is where people start to hit some walls, therefore there's a group session at three months.
Done with post-op visits until a couple of three-month visits, then at six months I'll have the mandatory labs to see what's really happening.
And the best part of the day - I went to the cashier's window to pay the parts of my bill that had gone through insurance and were due, and the dude behind the counter said that Cleveland Clinic is starting a new policy that if you pay your portion of the surgical bill off of your first statement, there's a 25% discount given. Needless to say, my checkbook is a lot happier than I expected it to be!
