Yesterday,  I took advantage of a beautiful day and some free time and went on a 38 mile bike ride through the rolling hills (sometimes quite steep) of the Wisconsin Coulee region. I loved it.  This is the longest ride I have ever done (since 7th grade when I went 120 miles).  My legs felt dead at the end of it, but it was a spiritual and emotionally satisfying experience.  I'm so glad I went ahead and bought a nice road bike.

Today, I may just go for a walk at lunch or a relaxed bike ride with my wife this evening to recover.

sounds like a good workout... i'm shopping for my first road bike now.

i had good workouts yesterday and today which i posted on the exercise and fitness forum.  highlights are a 5 mile run yesterday at a new best time for me and a really good cardio workout today in the gym...

Started jogging a week and a half ago and just ran my first race yesterday...a cross-country 5k through the woods, up and down hills, dirt, grass, etc....finished in 29 mins...not bad considering it was taking me 34 mins on a flat road just last week.  Thinking back to last year when I couldnt walk down to the mailbox without almost having a stroke...lol

My wife does this boot camp at our gym. She has been doing it for three mounths. So today we show up at 12:30pm and the owner was out front. So patrice want to get on this one? It was not her normal time she does m/w/f at 4:30pm. She said yes and then he looked at me......So Derrick you want to join them? After the fear and panic went away I said what the heck! It's 45min of non stop high intensity training. So any way I completed it totaly drenched with sweat! To bad they dont do it for men because I would do it again. I took 20min break than did 2/3 of my normal lift's. Pullup's, military press, dips, standing cable rows, bicep curls, tri extensions and the plank for 60 seconds.

I feel great!
