Clothing Exchange
Hey guys, just curious. Other than the main OH clothing exchange, which is empty - is there a Men's clothing exchange? I am definitely in need of some clothes that fit better and I have some clothes that I would gladly give to someone else.
Having gone already from a 56 to a 48/50 waist, I need something more fitting for now, even though I expect to need something smaller later.
Any ideas?

Good question...This one comes up quite a bit. What I tell people is to look to the thrift stores big time...Goodwill, Salvation Army type of places. The local support group (check through your surgeon) might have something, but it's usually 10 to 1 women to men there. Where I found my best pants...from my nephew. It can be a pride thing we have to work through, but asking friends and family for some old clothes for a few weeks can save us big bucks. If you have to go new, just go with Walmart...Cheap and you may only need to use them for a short time. Don't be like me...I went out and spent $200. on new clothes (thinking I was done losing). I dropped somemore and the clothes are just sitting in the closet now. Brian
I found a guy who took my old clothes - he was losing without WLS - and happened to be the size I was recently coming out of. I offered and he accepted them in the typical man fashion (quietly yes - but grunting out loud lol).
I bought used clothing till last month. I have less than 10 pounds to go - and figure I am as small as I am going to get. Bought "new" jeans and shirts. Now I wish I sprang for the new jockeys too.

In the past, on this board, we have just done it between ourselves. I would post what I had available and usually always had a taker. I would pack it up and ship it and the receiver would always offer a check for the postage. It always seemed to work out. The only request I ever personally made on anyone was that when they were done with the clothes, they passed them on to someone else who could use them.
A lot of the guys have posted like this and it always seemed to work. Personally, I never even asked anyone for postage. To me, the ability to give and share was a blessing.
