5 days post. Thanks Nick and Mike
OK I'm 5 days post and feel good. I have not been sick yet so I'm very happy about that. I am starting to get hungry though. This 2 week liquid diet is going to be very hard. I really don't have much pain anymore, i have even been able to sleep on my stomach. I'm really glad I went through with this. Thanks to everyone that took the time to write me. I loved to hear from everyone and it all helped. Now give me some advise on eating or this 2 week liquid diet please.
Nathan
He's alive. Doc did'nt get our memo.
Welcome to the journey. Gotta get those fluids in. Water very important unless u like baseballs in the pot . Pain is gone thats good. It wont be long b4 u can eat solids again. This is your time to commit to a new set of food choices and eating patterns. This is the most important part of WLS.
I was biking around Gettysburg today and stopped at a sandwich shop. Looked at the menu and finally ordered a roast beef wrap, horseradish, sweet peppers, onions and honey mustard. Rode the bike to a shady area and started my pig-out. I took the wrap off and shoveled the stuff in. Only got 4 bites in and I was full. Packed the rest up for the long journey home. I remembered not to have water 30 min b4/after and that was a killer today. I turned the AC to 65 and counted the minutes to popping a cold Lipton SF White tea - Priceless
Good luck with the journey

Glad you went through with it. Welcome to the Loser's Bench! I'm just over 3 weeks post op, and I'm surprised how fast the early phases went, so be patient on the liquids and everything will fall into place.
If you get hungry, often times water will help take care of it - just follow your guidelines pre and post meal times.
On a side note, the last time we heard from you, you had left your preops in tears. When you feel up to it, would you share what took you to the operating table? Many of us would like to hear the follow up to your story!
And now when someone calls you a loser, you can say to them, "Damn straight!"

welcome to the loser's bench. This is also a time for you to start to pay attention to your body, your emotions and to what is true hunger. I thought I was hungry the first few weeks, but discovered that much of that was head or emotional hunger. I think that physically you shouldn't feeel much hunger at this point, and that some of what you are feeling as hunger is probably your defense mechanisms kicking in wanting to provide you with some comfort, stress or boredom relief. Just something to think about. NOw is the time to learn about when you are truly hungry so that you can learn to eat when hungry and stop when satisfied.
BTW I could never sleep on my stomach when I was obese. HOw do you do it?
