I consider myself pretty tough, but as I sit here just 5 days since surgery, I find myself regretting my decesion! I feel very weak. The pain isnt bad, hardly any at all. I thought I'd be more mentally ready for this than I am. My surgery was 5/5 on 5/6 my gf went into the hospital due to complications with our baby. She's been there since Wed and I've been once. I truely do not have the engery to do anything. I feel as though I already failed not only with the VSG but as a support for her. I find it hard to get in all my protein and water and I dont sleep more that 2 hrs a night! Hell I even tried taking loritab to rest but nothing works. I currently am regretting that I did this to myself, it seems it wouldve been easier to just diet. I'm not knocking anyones descion, I'm just expressing my own feelings. Its alot harder than I expected.

keep your head up, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS.  your body underwent a traumatic experince and it will take time to recover.  you will be a better person when this is over and laighing at me when I'm *****ing about my surgery.  You WILL feel a little better each day!

Buyers remorse is a normal reaction after surgery.. I had it for a few minutes in the recovery room at the hospital...  EVERYONE,, gets that... But,, it dosent take time to get over.

You are in a bad situation and all I can offer you is to pray for you and your girlfriend.  Your feelings toward the surgery will probably change within a douple of weeks.  If you could have lst the weight without WLS, you wouldn't have gone to the trouble.  But, none of us could keep weight off without WLS.

I have read about this happening in my research.  I bet once you are well You will come back and retract this post.   I would be careful taking scrips right now. I mean a loritab seems a bit harsh in a new stomach.

I'm sure you have the avenues at work for help. If you are starting to feel depressed cause it seems as if you are.. Call and talk to them, IF not log on here, someone is always on these forums.

If you have any questions log in and ask.

You have made the right choice. 5 days out is nada. Give it a chance.

First, hope your girlfriend is OK and everything turns out alright.

As for "Buyer's Remorse", I never had it.  After my heart attacks and all the meds I was on because of them, I was at a point where I felt like crap everyday - stent, pacemaker, congestive heart failure, sleep apnea, severe edema, pre-diabetic and the list went on. I was taking 13 meds a day at one point.  My feet, ankles, knees, and back ached all the time. I couldn't walk up the 2 flights of stairs at work without taking at least 2 rest breaks to catch my breath. I couldn't play with my grandkids more than 4 or 5 minutes without having to stop and sit down.
Now, after over 200 lbs. gone in just a year, I feel like a new man.
Working out in the gym 3 to 4 days a week, play with the grandkids without having to stop and rest, ride my motorcycle for hours, walk several miles, etc.

A huge part of this journey is MENTAL. You have to keep your head on straight, stay positive, focused, dedicated and determined and you will succeed and become healthier and happier.

Now get your head out of your azz, quit playing the "poor pitiful me" part, get rid of the negativity and think positive!!

You 'll be fine!
