How much excercise?
I am 1 1/2 weeks out of surgery. I have a lot of energy, but have been told to only walk and do isometric excersises until I get my G-Tube removed at the six week point (June 1st is my removal date
).
Right now I get up from my desk at least once an hour to walk around the building (about 5 min) and when I get home I go for a 45 minute brisk walk with the dog. I have been thinking of also getting on the treadmill in morning when I wake up. Would that be too much at this stage?
I'm going fishing and crabbing tomorrow for the first time since surgery!!!!!
Also, How the h*ll do you attach a tweight loss ticker? I've tried and can't figure it out.

Hi Mike,
I am two weeks post op today. While I would check with your doctor first....... I began my regular treadmill workout 10 days after surgery. I too found that I had a fine energy level. I made sure that I did it at a time when I was home and could rest if I became fatigued. (That has not been a problem.) I believe that it actually gave me more energy and helped me to feel better (especially helped move the gas LOL).
My current treadmil is 30 minutes at a 5% incline at 3.5 MPH. I break a sweat and feel great.
I went fishing last Suday. You inspired me with your post regarding that.
Regards,
Forrest

A whole new world opens up as you drop the weight. I would take it slow. You have the whole rest of your life to work out. Allow the healing process to take place. That G-Tube scares me. Protect it and keep it clean (the site). With the extra time, I would work on the toneing and streatching of the muscles. Brian
Mike,
I was one week post-op on Wednesday myself. My Surgeon told me not to do any weights until the soreness goes away. I've done a little walking but it's been raining in the evening when I'm off work so I've not got to be out as much as I wanted. I'll be the first to admit that I always try to push the limits as to what I can do. I really want to do more cardio and weights but I'm going to do it safely and in the right time. Plus, I've already lost 29lbs in my first week so I know that rapid weight loss is going to tax my body pretty hard. Congrats. on your surgery and best wishes to you! Remember, it's a long journey and we're just at the beginning.

Weight loss ticker:
After you've updated your weight and click "next", there will be a page that has three or four different code options for pasting into different places. If you're using HTML Editor #1 for this forum, pick the one that says HTML and paste into your signature. It looks like you pasted the URL from the web site, which isn't what you want.
Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone,
I have decided to take it slow for now, at least until I get my G-Tube out June 1st.
Went fishing at Port Canaveral Saturday, we caught 50 sailor's choice and only one blue crab. Dina was dissapointed about that. We stayed for 8 hours and I think that was a little too much. My G-Tube siite became very sore from all the up and down. Sunday I just went for a 30 minute walk and vegged out the rest of the day, after church of course.

I eat some. my wife is from the Philippines and she shares it with her friends. I have told her she needs to give more away or we need to stop fishing for a while. Our freezer in the garage is full of fish.
And now she has started drying some of the fish we caught. I'm wondering if any of the neighbors will start complaining of the smell.

Does she clean and filet them too? I went to whole foods market in Winter Park and they had salmon and tuna Jerky. Was pretty damn good.. There is fishing where i live, the neighbors claim there is grouper and red fish out in the waters but I have not been out to drop a line out there. lol and its only a 2 block walk..
Wow does it smell that bad? bet you have a few cats hanging around there?
Have you ever fished over at the wild life refuge in Merritt Island?
