Good morning!

My weight jumped UP this week. Gained 2 pounds to 195. I have increased my activity quite a bit this week - so maybe its muscle? Bought a pedometer - and have been walking at lunch time, using my pilates ball daily for core strengthening, and working with dumbbells every other day to get my arms looking proportional again. Took a 6 mile hike yesterday as well. I tired out the dogs!

So what are your numbers this week? What are your successes, and what are you struggling with?

I am down to 238.2 which is 5.2 pounds for the week.  Had my one month checkup and it is likely that I have a slight stricture.  I take a 10 mm pill every morning and it gets stuck about every third day and well chewed food gets stuck also.  No problem with water but protein drinks occasionaly are a problem.  Doc wants to wait a couple of weeks to see if it resolves itself.  He states that the pouch and stoma depending on how fast we heal is at it tightest between 4 and twelve weeks and that this may resolve itself.  If not I will have to be scoped, so back to softer foods and liquids for a couple of days.

My energy is up today and i believe it is because I have added some liquid carbs to my diet such as no sugar added fruit bars and ruby red grapefruit juice with spenda.  Mowed my yard yesterday and had to stop every 15 minutes to rest.  This has never been a problem in the past so I added the carbs and I do feel much better today.

Despite this slight setback I am amazed at my progress.  By the way has anyone seen my arm strenght, I seem to have lost it!

I am doing fairly well with weight loss and have lost another couple of pounds this week.  I have been enjoying being more active and able to do things I haven't been able to do in years, but I have to be careful about becoming complacent, so am working on that.
