First Bike

What would be a good (not to expensive) bike for me to look at? I hate to spend to much on one as I dont know if I will like bike riding or not but would like to give it a try.

Look on the next page of this Forum.  We had this discussion a few days ago.  Basically, someone suggested getting a beach cruiser.  Others suggested K-Mart or Craigs List.

TX also has a lot of Pawn shops. First Cash, EZ pawn and Cash America.  You can haggle with them and if you dont like it sell it back

Goodwill, Amvet, pawn shops.  New - WalMart . I got a Schwinn  link for $179. 20 speed, widew seat, street handle bars.

I went to a bike shop about an hour away and got advise from them, then I bought one of the cheapest ones they sold, still was a little over $400. It is a Trek Hybrid, a cross between a mountain bike and a beach cruiser. I rode it today about a year after buying for about 5 miles. I had tried to ride before, but he first hill would get me, this time I walked it up the small hill and it was smooth sailing from then on. Legs burned when I got off, but never really got tired.
