Got my date...May 5th

Well I went to the Dr today and I'm scheduled for surgery on May 5th. Any sugestions? Advice?

Did your doc put you on a liquid diet to shrink the stomach and liver?

Nope. I was told to eat a good breakfast the day before and nothing but clear liquids after 10am and nothing after midnite.

Damn I would at least do a liquid diet.  If my doc didn't require one I was still going to do it on my own.  It's hard though

Have you seen a Nutrionist ? 

I plan to do a modified version of a liquid diet. And I havent seen a nutrionist yet. All I'm required to do is get a physical and see a shrink.

Thats good then too.  Hell I been on the damn liquid diet since April 1st.  Have to stay on it, surg is May 8th.

Well I hope they gave you eating instructions for after and what all to expect.

Well I've actually elected to keep it to myself. I have only told my immedaite family.

CONGRATULATIONS.. It must be that time of the month every ones getting their dates.. WOW..
The only suggestion I would give you might seam obvious to most but, the only mistake I made was smoking the day of surgery. DONT DO IT if you smoke STOP at least the day before. I had trouble breathing right after surgery and that was because I smokes 1 cigarette that day 2 hours before I got to the hospital. If you dont smoke you'll be in better shape then me.
