What I thought was the craziest thing was that he asked me to lose 50 pounds BEFORE WLS. I thought, hmmmm.....isn't this what the surgery is for? Turned out to be quite a struggle but well worth it since it prepared me for life after WLS.

Boner,

I am in the same boat brother!!  When I went to the first surgeon and she said I had to lose 70lbs prior to Lap Band surgery. I did more research and realized RNY was better for me and my now surgeon said I have to lose 50 lbs.

At first before I couldnt understand why I had to lose prior to surgery...well now I know why. I wanted to give it the South Park...Wha..Wha..What? Luckily for me my surgeon's protocol is to eat pureed food as soon as I get home...irony isn't is  I cant eat again till after I surgery .  ha  I so cant wait till 8-15 to get my date!

Kind of ironic though, isn't it?  Keep battling to take off the 50 cause it'll help you in the long run.

Your day is comin', Rob!!

Hmmm.... 2 things come to mind, how about when I broke my foot and the doc asked me to walk across the room
And when after my WLS surgery when I was nauseous and could'nt hold down even water, the anti-nausea medicine perscribed was a liquid

Thats really funny.. The same thing happened to me about 10 years ago when I broke my foot. Never did understand the reasoning behind that..
