Sample Menu
Breakfast 7AM: AcheivOne coffee/protein drink
Snack 10AM: reduced fat Cheese stick or two with 2-3 healthy crackers.
Lunch 1PM: leftovers from dinner ie: 3-4 oz of chicken, steak, pork, meatball and 2-3 oz veggies.
Snack 4PM: 1 oz peanuts, or a Pure Protein bar, or some more RF cheese/crackers, etc
Dinner 7-8PM: 3-4 oz of chicken, steak, pork, meatball and 2-3 oz veggies. Sometimes I mix it up if i'm getting sick of the meats and I'll make a pizza: low carb wrap with tomato sauce and RF Mozz cheese baked in the toaster oven (yummm thin crust pizza!)...or maybe a RF hotdog cut up in some baked beans with a little corn on the cob...etc etc....of course followed up with a protein shake since these are low protein meals.
I'm averaging about 1000-1500 calories a day, 40-50 gm fat, 60 to 120 gm protein and 60 to 120 oz of water each day and I've had good success.

Some things that have worked for me...peanutbutter made from peanuts only...no sugar added...You have to mix it because the peanut oil goes to the top. Tuna salad or egg salad. Add a small amount of low fat mayo and some salt and pepper. Cooked spinach or mixed vegetables...Make them in the microwave...add some water to it then a small amount of salt later. Wendi's Chili. Cook a good quality steak...only eat 2-3oz at a time (by the way steak can be very hard to digest the first few months...trial and error). Frozen shrimp...pop some in the microwave for 20-30 seconds (yet they are very expensive). Carl's Jr. chicken sandwich...with or without the bun (or use one side of the bun), scrape the sauce off. Dry roasted peanuts, plain almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds (all can be found in a good health food store)...also soynuts. Milk, yogurt...add your own fruit like strawberries or banana, cottage cheese, protein shake in milk. Whole grain crackers. Healthy Choice Lemon Fish dinners...add some low sodium soysauce to the fish part for some extra protein. A good quality chicken, turkey, or beef vegetable soup. Have someone make you a crockpot of lean turkey, chicken, or beef with vegetables (it can last 4-6 days). Beef jerey, turkey jerkey. I still keep beef jerkey, and different nuts and crackers in my pockets. If I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, I just pop some in my mouth. Hope these work. Brian
I have book marked this particular forum entry, for reference later when I have my surgery. Thought is was pretty good. The only thing, is my NUT and surgeon does not want their patients to have any bread, rice, or pasta and was also told on my last visit, no oatmeal. She said these things tend to stretch out the pouch. I notice that quite a few eat these things, so guess every doc/NUT is different. I plan to follow my doctor's orders though. Hope this helps:
