Return to work
I'm new here.
I have an 8/13 surgery date for RYGB.
Started at 333 on 5/28, now down to 307 on a high protein, low calorie diet. Feeling pretty good.
I'm trying to do this in stealth mode, meaning I haven't really told anyone (except my wife). Work thinks I'm gonna be out for a couple of weeks to have my gallbladder removed.
My work is not physically strenuous, but I am on my feet all day, with about an hour break for lunch.
How hard is it to return to work? Will I be able to hit the ground running two weeks later and look like nothing has happened?
Thanks!

Puree..."For health reasons, I'm trying a strict diet". Concerning going back to work...What I tell guys...When you think your ready to go back, try and start the end of a week cycle and see how you do. If your a Monday-Friday guy, I would come back on a Thursday and work Thursday and Friday 1/2 days. See how you handle 4 hour days. If that was easy, go to 8. Remember you may be losing 1-2 pounds a day. It can really zap your energy level. Add the commute, and you can get drained. Each person is different. Brian
Yes as Brain says you do feel very tired. I commute 2 hours to work and what kept me alive and still does is the 5 hour energy shot. It's loaded with B12, and B6 it packs an awesome punch. Good luck to you and you should be fine after 2 weeks. I took 3 weeks off but could have gone back after 1. Remember light duty for around a month when you do go back NO heavy lifting.
I did the same thing at work, didn't tell anybody. Told them I was having my gallbladder out as well. Actually had the gallbladder out the week before and went back to work. Had the by-pass and took two weeks off. I could have went back after one but it was the end of the year and I had two weeks and took them. I didn't tell any one for 6 months or more. There are still some that probably don't know. People would ask how I was loosing weight and I would tell them clean living and let it go at that. I would plan for the worst and hope for the best. One thing I should say is that I set at a desk for the most part.
