No desire to eat

Thanks for the replies guys.  Brian, I'm sure it's not a stricture - I can eat. It's just that I have NO DESIRE whatsoever to eat. Nothing even tastes good to me right now. Once in a while something will sound or smell good, but after one or two bites, it's no good.   "Real food" is just not at all appetizing to me right now.

As I said, I am forcing myself to eat at least once a day, and trying to do so at least twice a day. I'm trying my best to get in 60-70 grams of protein with 1/3 to 1/2  coming from "real foods" like eggs, chicken, fish, etc.  But it is definitely a chore right now.

I will continue to work on eating "real foods". But at least I know it's not just me and that some others have the same issue.

Thanks again for your replies!

My desire to eat came back when the nerves reconnected, about 6 months out. Up to that time, I literally had to set an alarm clock to remind me.

Even now, 3 years out, I can find myself not eating when I'm busy, moreso than before surgery. There are other times that I can't keep the hunger beast down.

"when the nerves reconnected" ---- makes sense to me now why the eating honeymoon period happens physically post-WLS. Learned something new today. Thanks, Bob.

I'm like you Bama, I have no desire whatsoever to eat but try to eat three times a day, sometimes just a bite or two. I drink protein drinks and take my vitamins, but almost always am nauseous in the morning after a couple of bites of something, today it was 2 bites of apples, half came back up and now just tummy rolling. If one could live without eating - I would do it, I have no appetite nor do I get hungry. It's crazy. But i still try to eat, spicy foods are out for me, the recipes the guys tout make me sick as a dog. One thing I eat that I can tolerate are smoked hen turkey legs I buy off of ebay, 2 oz. are 58 grams of protein!! 1 leg can last me for 4 - 5 meals.
Hope things work out soon. BobM.

I guess I'm lucky...I still really enjoy eating...just making better choices and eating alot less now.  I hope this doesn't change!
