WooHoo....Tour de Fat conquers the Triple Bypass
Finished the Triple Bypass in 8 hours 39 minutes over 122 miles. Even though I didn't meet my "real" goal of sub-8 hours, I still feel great about the accomplishment. I still had "gas left in the tank" at the end so if I would have gone faster over the first mountain pass, I think I could have done the 8 hours. I picked up the pace over the second mountain pass and really cranked it up the third one and over the final 25 mile stretch to the finish. Top speed was 47 mph and the old bike performed flawlessly as usual. Weather was perfect and the Colorado scenery was spectacular. Feel pretty wiped out physically this morning but not too bad. Mentally...top of the world!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Off to church to celebrate with some friends. Boner

From reading my brother's daily blog of miles ridden and feet climbed, I'm interested in just how much climbing you did during your ride. His son points out that if he climbs, he also descends. But, my brother says your legs ache from the climbs and you just have to be careful on the descent. So, how much did you climb during your ride?
We climbed a tad under 11,000 feet on Saturday and your brother's correct. Some of the climbs take you several hours to get to the top then you blast down the other side in 30 minutes. Then you start climbing again. My legs feel like someone took a baseball bat to them but it's a "good kind of sore."

Congratulations!
Great to hear you continue pushing for more life!
Keep it Up!
Also good to hear you in good spirits.
Best Wishes-

Boner - Simply outstanding!! You are my inspiration, bro! I did a 15 miler yesterday with some of the nastiest hills I have ever done. Be proud, ride Strong!
