hard date and busy week

All,  I have a hard date and it has been moved up from my tenative date of  8/15. The hard date is 8/05 and my preadmission testing is 7/10 one day after my wifes rny surgery. She is having a Laposcopic rny I am having an open rny. Any tips on things I can do to make it easier on her when she gets home? I think she will be home on Friday.  Thanks  MrBill65 

Don't drive too fast from the hospital because you can feel every single bump in the road. Other than that just have the anti-nausea medication handy and be prepared to help her in and out the shower and fetch various things for her like ice, water, jello, etc. She should be up and running (not literally haha) by the 3rd or 4th day or so. It's nice to see another "team" going through WLS.  I had my VSG on April 23rd, and my wife had a Lap on May 5th.  We decided to schedule our surgerys about 2 weeks apart so that one of us could be in good enough shape to help out the other.  It's a great support mechanism I've lost 74 lbs and my wife has lost 49.  Get her a back scratcher.  After surgery, you're not going to want to twist around much and that thing comes in real nice (It also helps you reach things when you need to).  Just stock up on sugar free jello, SF ice pops, and clear broth.  You both will do just fine!  Good luck to the both of you taking your "journey" togeather
