I want some football...!!

I shared this same topic last year at this time.  After the NBA is over and the dog days of summer...I am ready for alittle football.  Yeh, it is a long season and by December I could care less who gets into the Weedeater Bowl.  I just am ready for a little college football.  Nothing wrong with baseball, but the game can drag at times.  At least this is an Olympic year.  So bring out the ol' pigskin and go long.  Anyone else with me??  Brian

I'm with you man.  If it were up to me, football season would start in July, and not that preseason BS.  But unlike you, i do care who is in the KY Jelly Bowl Game.  I especially miss the Blue Field at Boise State.

Yep - startin' to get the fever for some good ol' college football myself.  They'll be kickin' it off before we know it though.  I think the Tide and Clemson Tigers go at it on Aug. 30.  That's less than  7 weeks!  And gonna be a heck of a tough game for an opener, too!!  Should be a heck of a season, one way or another!!                     ROLLLLLLL TIDEEEEEEEE!!!! 

Here in SOuthern Ohio it isn't college footbal but high school football that is the big thing. That starts next month.  My high school won state last year, not bad for a Catholic school Go Bombers

HS football started here 3 days after graduation. In full swing with the summer workouts, was looking forward to hell week BUT they don't do that anymore, its only 2 days now, WTF ? I was puking for that long back in the day. They also don't shave their heads anymore either. on the NFL front now that Georgia is dead I am looking for a NFL team. I vowed not to support the NFL as long as she was alive. I am now a Free Agent Fan

Sportscaster on evening news stated that the Cowboys head to training camp in 18 days!  Be patient my board mates!  Soon there will be calm in the Force with the start of football. Question:  we agree on being respectful of each others WLS decisions.  Does that respect apply to football teams as well?

I agree.  Yet, respect HAS to begin with Pac 10 football.  The east, south, and midwest do not respect our league!!  Cal had to put a whuppin' on The Tennessee Volunteers last year.  Cal was ranked # 2 in the nation...before losing 5 out of 6 games in a row!!  I enjoy the 49ers and Raiders each year.  About mid season it is all down hill for both though.  For them a good year is going over 500. and making it as a wild card.  Brian

Does that respect apply to football teams as well? Sure... Unless it's Ohio State!
