Hell, if you're doing that great, why not pack on another 100 lbs?

Seriously, why would you come here and ask "what is all hype about me being overweight"?  We don't know if you are obese or not, or just BS'ing.  If you are serious and don't know "why the hype", I suggest you start researching the effects of obesity on health, longevity and quality of life.  Look at the comorbidities related to being obese. If you really are obese and want to change that - then do it. If you are serious about wanting to learn about WLS and life afterwards, then ask questions and you will get answers from the guys here who have their own experience and knowledge.   If you are just screwin' with us, refer back to my first statement.

> so what is all hype about me being overweight... How old are you right now?  It's not unusual to hear this question coming from someone in his 20's or 30's.  And it's a good question.  Some people of course start experiencing problems from their obesity early on, but those folks usually aren't asking such questions. Once you hit age 40, the co-morbidities begin to appear (take your pick: sleep apnea, HBP, shortness of breath, osteoarthritis, elevated blood cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes, circulation problems, etc.)  Once you hit age 50 (if you get that far), you might have picked up a couple more of these as you passed through your 40's.  It just gets progressively worse as you get older. If you're lucky to have no problems right now, that's actually a great time to consider having the surgery, because it's unlikely that you're going to avoid all of the physical problems that are associated with obesity.  Youth simply helps us temporarily avoid them, but youth is a resource that we all eventually lose. /Steve
