i've got a question
I have to say that each time an unsuspecting woman posts something here, and the wave of responses mounts, I'm utterly embarrassed.
This lady asked a very simple question. "is there like totally no women allowed in here? ever?" why can't that be met the way most of you have posted?
In the future I propose a change. Why don't we post something like: "Your post is being ignored due to it's non-compliance with the Men's Board philosophy" and leave it at that. Don't reply over and over and over.
If this is a support group for WLS patients, lets do just that. Support people. We do an AMAZING job at it among our ranks. When uninformed people try to utilize our forum for non-sanctioned reasons, let's not tar and feather them. Just cordially send them on their way. They too, are patients in need of support. Why should we tear them down for treading on the wrong side of the gym? And that's my $.02 /rant off Here's my .02

Well, I like women just fine. I have nothing against them personally. I try to be a "Southern gentleman" and respectful to women. That said, it amazes me that some gals will post on the MEN'S FORUM asking questions like
"It says Men's Forum, but can I join you fellas?" or "So is the Men's Forum for Men only?" Well, DUHHHHHH - MEN'S FORUM should be self explanatory, don't ya think?
In my opinion, if a woman posts news about a guy who has had surgery, or needs advice, or needs a man's point of view concerning surgery, or similar legit things, that isn't a bad thing. They are usually told to refer the guy here and encourage him to join us. As for the ladies lurking and reading the forum, there is nothing we can do about that. But as for them being an "active" participant in the forum, why would they need or want to?
There are tons of other forums that are basically "Women's Forums" anyways.
So, IMO, we do not need women interjecting themselves here as a regular part of this forum. Again, it is the MEN'S FORUM.
Just my $.02!
Girl Scouts . . . duhhhhhh, does that mean boys can't be members?
