Crystal light bad?
I was reading on the grad boards that people were trying to stop drinking water with the Crystal light flavors. Is this bad for us?
I was drinking coke zero, but only like 1 or 2 cans a day, but I can understand this being wrong, but Crystal light?
I really like the packets and I always get my water in when I add those and I'm curious if this is something else I need to ween away from?
Also, artificial sweetners......good or bad?
23 months out, more than 400lbs lost, and I use Crystal Light's sugar free stuff on a daily basis.
In fact, Walgreens has a sugar-free drink packet with various Hawaiian Punch flavors that I live on.
You have to do what works for you.
Splenda works. Equal is okay, but it's got a wierd metallic taste to me. Doesn't make me sick or anything, just prefer Splenda over it.
Sweet & Low (Saccharin) makes me want to vomit.
Sugar Alcohols DO make me vomit.
I know of no long term adverse side effects to using Splenda for sure. Or Equal fro that matter, but if you do a google search on it, you'll find the conspiracy theory types out there will tell you that not only will artificial sweeteners will not only kill you slowly, but send you straight to hell, doomed to an eternity of giving Satan himself handjobs while listening to Celine Dion sing the alphabet.
In all seriousness .. you have to do what works for you. Crystal Light works for me. Splenda works for me. As I said, I'm not quite two years out, and have lost a little over 400lbs. THis is what has worked for me thus far.
Good luck!
I don't like lemon in my iced tea, or I'd probably drink a lot of that from Crystal Light.
However, I do make my own iced tea:
1 gallon of water
10 Red Rose tea bags
Bring water to just a boil, put tea bags in, and steep for 30 minutes.
Put in a pitcher.
Then I just add Splenda to it.
I just have never been a lemon kind of guy. Only exception is the Crystal Light lemonade - some days, there just isn't anything like a cold lemonade when it's pushing triple digits.

Crystal Lite Iced Tea is also easy to find, unlike its acronym!
