Ohhhh so the Panni is basically just where they remove the fat and a tummy tuck is where they tighten muscles and pull skin and rearrange belly buttons and such?

Panni is when they remove the skin that overhangs your pubis.  It is not considered a cosmetic procedure, but a medically necessary one.  A tummy tuck removes the skin and pulls the muslces tighter, eliminating the "pouch" effect, that you sometimes get because your muscles have stretched out.  The best way to get your insurance company to pay for any of these procedures is to document rashes, pimples, back pains etc that the extra skin might be causing you through a Dermatologist or your PCP.  Many people get some plastic surgery covered by their insurance companies.....some do not.  It's kind of a 50/50 thing, an important part of the equation is your insurance company.  Some are just easier to get approval with then others...I spent a year fighing with my insurance company for  LBL, and was denied 2 times, and was seeking another appeal, when open enrollment came around I switched to a different insurance company that I knew as easier on plastics post WLS, and was approved the same day my PS office submitted for approval. ...i'm going for surgery July 8th. It might be something in your future, it might not....your skin might shrink up a bit, it usually lags behind weight loss  a good 6 months.....if you are so inclined, you might want to start looking into it.  I started getting my first consults 1 year post op, even though I was still a long way from having it done.  It takes time to find a good surgeon..... It sounds like an infection, I'd call your plastic surgeon and see whose covering for him/her....it might need immediate medical attention. I have heard that swelling post TT can last a year post op..... Scott PS if you start running a fever, or it become increasingly painful get to the ER ASAP
