First it was the lap band wars of 06'.  Now the DS wars are in full force.  Where is George Lucas to write this one up?

I posted in the "Banished" thread .. I state it again here. People need to MOVE OUT OF THE FOURTH GRADE!! Who gives a flying **** what surgery we had? We're here to support each other, not fight like little girls over which surgery is better than another. Man .. recent events are really starting to drive me away from OH completely.  I have a very low idiot / drama tolerance.  Lately even the Men's forum has been over that mark.

In my best Cards Fans Voiceover -  HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT!!! NO MORE ******G DRAMA IN THE LOCKER ROOM!!!!! IF THAT'S ALL YOU GOT THEN TAKE IT OVER TO TUNA TOWN AND STAY THERE. Who needs this silly bull**** in their life?? I really don't give a **** about what type of surgery you had. RYN, LAP, DS, mouth wired shut, who cares, if it works for you then great and I'm very happy for your success.  Now lets get back to real matters and leave this petty crap to the the other boards.

I personally do not give a flying **** but the reality is that incorrect data and information should be corrected.   A person stating that having the DS is like having no intestines is sadly mistaken, and while this forum should not be used as a source of medical data, someone coudl take that info as law.  The reality is that both the DS and the RNY cause malabsorbtion and both RNYErs and DSers need to take suppliments. Nice try to save yourself, but the problem is - that's not the focus of your original post.  You were blasting someone for blocking you.  In the Men's forum.   Disinformation is always bad.  But most people are smart enough to know that these forums are not to be taken as gospel, and in fact, need to talk to thier surgeon and do research OTHER than forums that are for and by the patients. But to blast someone for blocking you because they get tired of the incessant drivel being posted about one surgery over the other - or in your case, correcting percieved 'incorrect data and information' - in a public way is not only stupid, but it's insulting and inante.  It takes away from what these forums could be. I stand by my original statement.  EVeryone needs to step out of the fourth grade, grow up, and just get healthy and do everything we can to support each other REGARDLESS OF WHAT SURGERY YOU'VE HAD!! I'm not posting on this anymore.  I'm done.

Even though I am new, I so agree with the others.  Who should care what surgery a person had.  They had the one that best suited them.  Important thing is we took action to do something about our health, that the person came through ok, and has achieved a new life.  I also hate drama, and I am here to receive advice on pre and post surgery and encouragement, not girly drama.  Being pre-surgery, I envy those that have the new life, and congrats on your DS, lap band, RNY, or whatever! .  I am excited for you and SO look forward to the day that I can bost on how much exercise I was able to accomplish today, or how much weight I was able to lose.  Having said that, ya'll (as we say in the South) are great.   Anyone else from Arkansas or the area?  Michael

If you do the work in the areas of diet, nutrition and exercise it doesn't matter which surgery you have. You can make it work. My entire motivation for surgery was, so that I could actually lose weight from diet and exercise. I just wanted to know that I could do the work and get results in return.

"Anyone else from Arkansas or the area?" Michael, I’m across the river and down the road a piece… Welcome to the Men’s Board. About 2 weeks short of 5 years post-op And 4 years at a normal BMI. Hollar out if you’ve got questions, and some guy here will have an experience to share. Best Wishes- Dx
