"Mail Order Brides" - Good Or Bad Idea?

I know a fellow that did this and strolls around the neighborhood with his beautiful wife and baby.  He glows with happiness.  I think it's a grand idea for some.  Arranged marriages are very common in other cultures, and our "love" marriages have a pretty crappy track record, to be honest.  

It's your life.  I wouldn't let the macho blow hards around here have any influence on your decision.  You can ask later how *****whipped their wives have them compared to your subservient new wife that doesn't mind if you stay out late playing poker with the blokes.

Seriously...  Is there anyplace other than the MEN'S FORUM where you would see 10 MEN respond to ANOTHER MAN'S post?  If the O.P. wanted a female opinion, he would have posted somewhere else - ANYWHERE else. You should know better.  Period.

Why do you have to be such a skany *****  Seriously. Because we want our own area to talk about our own stuff - like women have in so many places - we're all "Macho blow hards"?  The very idea of "arranged marriges" and "mail order brides" are two very different situations. Arranged marriages are done by parents who choose the family they want thier daughter to be married into.  The women HAVE NO CHOICE in the matter. Mail Order Brides, at least reputable ones, one can assume that the women have made the choice to make themselves available. Maybe you should educate yourself before opening your mouth? I'm going to apologize to the men in here - this kind of bull**** drama is repulsive to me.  But I'm so sick of holding my tongue when stupid people post stupid things without thinking it through. Makes me want to leave the OH community all together.  Just shows that - if this snide little **** is telling the truth and she "got a link to it" - that people read in here, and troll to start crap up. Unbelievable.

I'm not gonna flame her either.......but her husband looks *****whipped to me. Badly.  I had a friend whose dad got himself a young Russian wife off the internet. First time he met her was at DFW. I don't really know how it's working out for him, but I'm told that she was extremely attractive. He was about 50 or 51 at the time and she was about 20 or 21.

I can't see a bunch of hot chicks in Russia going "You know what I need? I need a nice middle aged guy from the US, they're so sweet and loving there" and hooking up with that service.  I see more "I have no life here, I'm poor, beaten, sexually abused, and have no self worth. I might as well marry overseas where at least I'll have cable.".  You can't buy love.  There is someone out there for everyone though.  Just make yourself available. 

  Probably more true now that they are a free enterprise, Democratic country, Gad  ..  (dang, I miss the ole U.S.S.R. sometimes!)   &:-D)

Just do some volunteer work somewhere in Asia. I hear the habit for humanity guys who work rural Phillipines get hung up by their shlongs and never want to come home (that's the married ones). The really really nice ones are here. I doubt you'd want to give up an atty's job to teach English though. Might be some Atty work in Tokyo, though.
