Brent, Welcome to the Board! Congratulations on your first month post-op! It just gets easier… Most of the gals on OH have the sense to post On Forums where their input is needed, desired, and where they can get something from it as well. (that whole support system thang) Several are lurkers *****ad here because Often, we have some fun jokes and straight shooting info as well. Lurkers/Peeping Toms (Tammys) are fine, but occasionally One will tap on the window and cry “I need Attention!!” Or break right on in and demand attention. Those are the desperately needy ones That would come across just as inappropriate In the real world. It’s fairly rare. Glad you found the place. Throw out any thoughts or questions you might have. The guys here are very good about sharing experience. Sort of like an all request radio station… Only as good as the requests made of it…. Best Wishes- Dx

I am new to the Forum, to obesityhelp in general.  During the last week or two there have been attempts by two women to openly enter the discussion here.  My question:  is this normal?  Aren't there enough Forums here and elsewhere for women to talk to men?   On a different note, I had my RNY on May 19th.  I live in Washington state and have Group Health insurance.  I am going to do my best to not just be a lurker.

My question:  is this normal? Actually, it's been a slow week

There are probably 100 forums for mixed or women only and one for us, yet for some reason they can't make friends on those boards but feel they can here. Lets just say bad decision. Welcome the way to stay successful with this great tool (not your tool) is to stay active in a support group and you can't beat this one for 24/7 support.  C'ya Bob

Brent,

Good luck on this journey.  Even your doctor will not be able to give you the range of ideas and information you can get here.  The locker room is a special place.  I don't start my day without it.  In fact, when I see a woman has posted, I go get another cup of coffee and sit back and read.  Our guard dogs are some of the best, most well-trained, guys around.

At 7 months out, I am very thankful for this board and the guys here.

Welcome to the forum. I have been here less and less since I have gotten to goal and am doing well in keeping it off. This is a great place to hang with the guys and you will get straight answers here. The female thing will happen from time to time but they are normally quickly dealt with Enjoy the ride, life is MUCH better on the lighter side than it EVER was heavy!

Welcome!  We here in the Locker Room have plenty of space for new members....Men only of course! Post away and learn....there's great support here and education too! Read Dx for knowledge too. Learn to recognize a FART and all....it's a great forum for guys! Oh, and like the geese who guarded the Greek Senate, we too have our 'guard dogs' who will take umbrage and immediately stick up for our "MENS" forum when those "tunatownies" come by for that 'needed attention' You'll quickly see the ultimate way that such attention-desperate women are shooed away and judging by my own response you'll about bust a gut laughing at our protectors jibes! While I don't know - have never met - any of our Temple Dogs (sorry for the Japanse reference but it seemed appropo!) they ARE an integral part of the Locker Room and nothing is more important to me that this "collective" ID. These are my locker room 'brothers' and they are important to me...and hopefully to you too! Post away lad....it's great here! Jim the canuck!
