OT - Those "How To Pick Up Girls" Books
I was thumbing through a copy of Men's Health mag on the bookshelf at my grocery store tonight and saw an ad in it that gave me a flashback to my teenage years. It was for one of those "How To Pick Up Girls", "Success With Women", or "How To Score"-type books .. ya'll have seen them in ads before, I'm sure .. Just read it and follow the advice and, if you do, the author promises you'll soon have every woman you want in your back pocket (or someplace else you want them to be), regardless of your looks, income, etc.. Back in my day they were often advertised in comic books or in the ads of those novelty companies in same.
For anyone who is willing to admit they actually bought one of those types of books: do the techniques given in them really work and what do they typically advise a guy to do? or are they just a money-wasting gimmick, like those "enlargement techniques" books? I"m curious about them, after all these years ..

Hey Paul...I didn't read the book, but I saw the movie:)
they have several shows that talk about this...
They start with updating you look...(and most of us only know how to cover our body...) they suggest asking someone (in a store ) for help...honest is the best policy.."Hey...I think my look is rather dated..I've made soem changes in my life, and I'd like to update my style....)
then second verse is same as the first...do it with the hair...for me that would mean spending more the $4 on a hair cut...ask their advice....(I think I'm stuck in a different generation, how do guys my age now generally wear their hair)
then the where to meet girls...someplace where females are, but not necessacearlly a meat market...chairity events, book clubs....while you are there..put your best face forward..be charming, knowledgeable, and willing to help and listen...
at least I think that is how they start
