Little breakthrough today
Yesterday my wife surprised me by asking if she could start working out with me, and join me on the Body for Life challenge I've undertaken.
This morning she followed the workout after waking up early. She even called from work to tell me how good she felt, and that she'd eaten her snack and ordered a good lunch.
I guess example pays off.

Wouldn't that be something? I have been thinking a lot about generational vs situational poverty because of the school I work at. I think these ideas translate very easily into obesity and nutrition practices.
How great it would be to be the shift-stone ending generational obesity in my family. I had my surgery a year and a half ago, my mom followed a year later. Our other family members have taken a harder look at exercise and nutrition. I just hope it sticks.

I often say, “Everyone in my house lost from my surgery.” In my case, having Dad stop bringing home ice cream and pizza and crap Was the biggest change. That, and once I was out shooting hoops with my son Rather than snacking in front of the TV There was more activity for everyone. I’m 3rd Generation Obese myself, Hoping to watch my skinny grand-kids one day. Best Wishes- Dx
My 16 year old daughter is 5"7" and weighs about 150. I checked her BMI and it's at the top end of normal. But like most teenage girls, she feels like she's fat. And she does tend to gain if she doesn't stay active. The last two mornings she has gotten up before sunrise and run a mile. I don't know if it's due to anything I've done or not, but I'm proud of her iniative. It's not like my wife or I are nagging at her to do it. The one area where my whole family is making strides in health and fitness is in drinking water. There are very seldom sodas around the house any more, and that bottled water I stock in the fridge keeps dissappearing a lot faster than what I'm drinking it. I may start buying it in bulk instead of individual bottles.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
