Tour de Fat does Elephant Rock 100

Tour de Fat does Elephant Rock 100 for the 3rd time, the first being my first 100 miler 10 months post-WLS. Special ride for me to say the least.  8000 riders so Elephant Rock is one of the largest group rides in the U.S. I averaged 14 mph year one, 15.5 mph last year and am shooting for 17MPH today. Lots of hills so will be tough. Here's the elevation map. Nasty start and even nastier finish.  Bye, Boner

Dam Boner I just walked in the door feeling pumped just after riding my best 5.5 mile. Then while cooling down before hitting the weights I read your post! Gee! What a reality check! Great Job! Gives me more motivation! C'ya Bob

Wow!  It looks nasty.  Since you live near Boulder, are you used to training at the altitudes involved in this ride.  Is the 100 miles a 1 or 2 day ride?...Please keep us informed of all of your rides.

Dang, I saw "Elephant Rocks" and thought you were talking about (no, not my #2s) my home state - Missouri.   That's the name of a state park over in the SE part of the state.  Big, funky-shaped rocks (created by milleniia of water erosion or some such, IIRC) .. sorta like a natural Stonehedge (sp. ?) in the redneck woods ..    It would be rather tricky to ride a bike between those suckers!
