Sometimes I get to thinking about my own problems then when I read something like this I realize how trivial my own problems are. Keep on keeping on.

Hi, Bob - I'm so glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.  A year is nothing.  Seriously - you can do that with one hand tied behind your back. My road has been rough - not necissarily from WLS, but suffice to say I can relate.  If someone "can't deal with it" I just want to scream "SUCK IT UP, YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT PAIN IS!". I'm so happy to hear you're doing better, and just know we're here.  Don't let the process beat you down, just get through it, and in a year when you're better, you can look back and honestly say that it's made you a stronger man. Congrats. ... and on a side note - isn't it awesome to be married to a little spitfire like that?  Sounds like our wives have a lot in common.   I know I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hi Bob, Glad to hear the good news.  I loved what your wife did.  Some doctors need to be reminded that they are human as well and are dealing with other humans. I'll pass this good news onto a prayer group that has you in their thoughts.  Keep it up!! Brian

Guess what I learned while in the hospital for many weeks....I CAN grow beards and goatees.  Never knew I could....of course the ladies wouldn't kiss me.  My youngest said, no kisses for daddy if he leaves his whiskers on....had my nurse shave me the night before I was to go home, because little missus kisses are very important to me! bobm.

Bob, It's nice to see you back here. You really went through a rough time. But it's great to hear that you're back on the road to recovery.  I don't know, some people will do anything to lose weight!     Tha't the one positive thing from all this is that you're down 170 lbs already which is great. Hopefully the rest of your journey will be downhill ride.  Dan

Dear Bob, It is good to see you posting again. You have certainly been through a lot, but it sounds like the worst is now over.  Your guardian angel is sitting on your shoulder!

I'm sorry that you have had so many bad experiences.  I'm glad that your are improving.  I pray that you will continue to improve.  BUT, I disagree with admonishing others not to complain that they feel that they can't get past something.  This is the one place where people who are having problems should be able to voice them.  I'd rather have someone post here that they feel they can't get past something rather than give up.  Let them come here and post their problems.  Let them get the encouragement they need.  I don't care if they don't get any sympathy from you.  They'll get encouragement from many of the other men.  YOU have no idea of how many men from here have been praying for you for the past several months.  We can all use the help we get here.  The locker room is a place where we can air our problems.  Sometimes it's also a place where we can get a pep talk....Most of the men here know that I have mental problems.  I'm aware that there are others out there who also have mental disabilities.  When you combine that with physical problems, we need a place to express our frustrations.  I just hope the lurkers feel free to join us in lively discussions.  I encourage all men to post here!!!

Damn dude, your balls must have little balls of their own by now.

That's one hell of an inspiring story. I hope things go better for me, but if they don't, I hope I have the guts to make it through without swallowing a shotgun.
